...Well, I read it here that hostgator is available in just $0.01.
Is that right? Also its written that they are the best?
"No, you can't actually get them for $0.01.
It's the price for the first month if you use a promo code hgc25 but you still have to pay $15.00 for the domain name registration, so it would be $15.01 for the first month, and $9.95 for every month thereafter. They are one of the best, but there are some better offers.
I recommend one of these:

...I just signed up for bluehost, but I can't find the page editor. All I've found are Frontpage plugins, web design wizards, etc., but no place that actually allows you to hand-type css/html code and upload it. Where can I find this? Is it in the control panel or somewhere else?
"It's on your computer, in two pieces - Notepad and ftp. You write the files in Notepad (or any text editor) and send them to the site by FTP."

...I've heard HostGator has gone green, that their servers are all wind-powered. Are there servers still reliable, or are there chances their servers will clunk out?
Take your spam and shove it where the sun doesn't shine, and I don't mean the closet.
"Hi Anonymous,
Only their shared and reseller servers go green, except dedicated server... for now.
By saying "wind powered", just because there isn't wind blowing doesn't mean the server will be down. No. If that's the case, as one of the top 10 web hosts in the world, wouldn't they be digging their own grave?
Basically, Host Gator buys the certified renewable energy credits (RECs) from a renewable energy generating company to power their servers. You can learn more about its green hosting here (very interesting info):
=> http://tinyurl.com/host-gator-go-green
In a nutshell, there's always power generated for all their green servers, just as before. A crazy climate change will not affect the reliability at all.
In other words, if their servers' reliability used to be 99.9% before they go green, it'll still be 99.9% after going green.
Hope that answers your doubts. Cheers ;)

P.S. You may want to further check with their support team via their 24/7 live chat at the top right corner of the page."

...CGI, PHP 5, RoR, Perl, MySQL, SSH, SSL, IMAP, POP???
What are those things?
All I want to do is have a blog with my own url that I can put pictures on. I don't understand.
Also, it was telling me all kinds of things about FTP files? What are those?
"Why do you care? You want a blog with photos, I assume HostGator supports that or you wouldn't even consider them. You can just ignore all the other stuff."

...I created a joomla site in dreamhost. I would like to transfer it over to godaddy. I have already installed joomla on godaddy but it is a blank site, to move all my content over I have to transfer my database? All I kow is that I have access to myadmin on dreamhost...but how do I get it from that database to godaddy? I found an export but had no idea what the settings were so I just clicked export and it gave me a myfile.sql.zip file...is this what I need?
"You're on the right track. It sounds like you were able to get into the phpmyadmin for Dreamhost - go back into there and try exporting again, but this time choose None for the compression type. (The radios near the bottom of the page.) You should be given a file called something.sql. Next you will need to find out how to set up a sql database on GoDaddy, and then get into the phpmyadmin for that guy. Then you go to the import tab, browse for the .sql file, and wala, your database content is moved."

...I want a website similar to Craigslist where people from different states can find their cities and advertise. They would need to be able to upload pictures, and receive emails. I also want people to be able to use Paypal on my site. What kind of web hosting company would I need to lay out this kind of website?
Also, I know NOTHING about designing my own website, so I would need a web hosting company that would trouble shoot with me and have easy instructions in designing my website.

...i want to build a website and gain profit from it through advertising, i'm not selling anything. is it a good decision to go with a web hosting program to achieve this? will they take anything out of my profit? what is a really good web hosting program?
"There aren't any web hosting programs; there are web hosting companies. Let me tell you a little about my experience with web hosting companies over the years. At times you will come across deals that are almost too good to be true - cheap web hosting with amazing features! There are hosts that while offering cheap prices do back that up with excellent performance and service, but there are things to be noted:
There are a lot of potential questions you must ask yourself, whilst bearing in mind other peoples reviews, their reputation, and ultimately - the price. I personally use http://www.top15hosting.com to read web hosting reviews and see what web host is getting the best reputation as well as the bad, which helps me decide who to stay away from.
Your experience might be different but I have many complaints from PowWeb and Dot5Hosting. Those companies just took my money and provided me with bad customer support and my websites would always be down. Today I use Just Host for my web hosting and I’m very satisfied. As long as you do a little research before buying your web hosting you will be fine."
